Chris founded the practice in 1993 after having run the landscape group within HLM architects for 10 years. He gained full professional qualification in 1982 and became one of the Landscape Institute’s youngest Fellows in 1992.

Shortly after establishing the practice Chris spent two years working with Stanton Williams on the Millennium Seedbank and Tower of London and these experiences continue to inform much of the practice’s work, including the award winning Sammy Ofer Wing at the National Maritime Museum.

Chris has always explored new ideas; his naturally filtered pool at Carlton Drive was a ground breaking concept and his experimental work on living walls led to the wider use of previously untried species. His love of sport, particularly football, led him to write a paper on new stadia as opportunities for regeneration. Chris is now focusing on the future, passing on his knowledge and skills to the younger members of the office.
