Located beside a canal basin in Islington the site is formed via a series of terraces that mediate levels between the existing ‘stramped’ access to canal basin and City Road; and a pocket park to Wharf Road.

The entrance garden grows out of a sinuous granite edge, folding and widening to enable seating and providing a strong frame to the space. Backing this is an 18m long living wall and glazed water feature leading from the street to the main lobby of the building. This feature is viewed through a stand of umbrella shaped Zelkova trees and will help to mask traffic noise. The trees have been selected to establish a continuation of the building canopy.

The scheme affords planting at all levels from the subterranean gym via the level 24 terrace to the penthouse garden and biodiverse roof that caps the scheme.
