The tube lines represent a major barrier to movement, existing access arrangements between sites being non complaint with disability legislation.

The amalgamation of two 6th form college campuses onto one town centre site has proved to be the catalyst for this major regeneration within the centre of Harrow.

The overall regeneration project encompasses the construction of the new college, remodelling of the station, the delivery of new commercial opportunities, development of a significant area of new housing and improvements to an area of Metropolitan Open Land. The focus of the project will be concerned with the improvement of connections between these different activities and users.

We have prepared proposals for a new park as replacement for the Metropolitan Open Land. Regional and local policies advocate a significant emphasis on children’s play both in terms of formal provision and general use of open space. Our scheme uses the existing topography as a major feature of the park, variations on profile being employed to maximise play opportunities and increase habitat diversity.

We are assisting masterplanners MJP Architects with the development of these proposals, both in the establishment of the urban design strategy and through the incorporation of sustainable technologies; maximising the visual and ecological potential of the sites both at ground level and the elevated level of the roofs.
